Finally, success with my poem--2nd in the Poetry on the Lake Competition. 'A Zoo in Tunisia' wins 2nd place in the 'Short Poem' section of this competition. It was Longlisted in Torbay, shortlisted for the Plough Prize, and then in the final ten of the Huddersfield Literary Festival Competition. Now, I am pleased to say it has achieved a winning place. The poem The Colonists from my collection 'Chongololo Club has just been selected this year. (July 5th)

Shortlisted for the 2010 Templar Poetry Prize and two poems from my in progress collection 'Chongololo Club' have been selected for this year's anthology entitled 'Snap'. The selected poems are 'Fishing the Wild West' and 'Search Party.'

Selected in the Ver Poets Open Poetry Competition. This isn't a win, a place, a highly commended - not even commended, but I'm selected. This is a new category for me, but I'm among good company, and in the competition anthology, so I'm grateful for that.

Charles Causley Festival, Launceston, Cornwall. Following the workshop run by we three Moor Poets (Myself, Susan Taylor and Simon Williams) and the reading that we gave in St Mary Magdalene church, we came outside to try our luck at an age old tradition. With our backs to the prostrate figure of Mary Magdalene, we had to toss a small stone onto her back and with success expect a new suit of clothes before winter. What a terrific day it was, and we were so well looked after. June 5th
